Fruita Festivals

Best of the West!

Voted Best of the West by The Daily Sentinel's readership in 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2014, the Fruita Fall Festival is the granddaddy of festivals on the Western Slope. The event is celebrated on the last full weekend in September. This festival offers three days of events including a parade, outhouse race, carnival, two stages of music and over 150 arts and crafts vendors. 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of its beginnings as the Cowpuncher's Reunion. The Centennial Celebration begins in January! Watch for monthly activities throughout the year.

From Mike the Headless Chicken to the Fat Tire Festival, Fruita has an active community, also hosting riverfront concerts, Thursday evening variety shows, a weekly farmer's market, summer rodeos, Halloween Trick or Treat Street and Hometown Christmas and Parade of Lights. There is even a festival celebrating dinosaurs - Dinosaur Days put on by the Museum of Western Colorado.
